10 MONTH BABY ROUTINE

July 24, 2021

Hello Everyone! Since I have the time right now, I wanted to share my daughter's 10 month routine. Actually, not much has changed since 9 months. She has still been very sickly, and I think we had a small disturbance with her naps, but overall nothing major has happened!

6:30-7:00 | GOOD MORNING

Recently, due to her illnesses, she has been sleeping later and later. This morning, she actually slept until 7:30AM, and even then we had to wake her up. If she goes to daycare, I'll let her sleep until 7:30 because she hasn't been sleeping longer than 30 minute naps the past few days. However, if it is a day off, we try to wake her up at 6:45 or 7:00, just to keep a decent sleep and meal schedule.

7:00-8:00 | BREAKFAST

Since she has been sick, she has either been skipping the weaning meals or eating very little solids. She gulps down her bottle, but it is such a struggle to get a few bites of real food in her. Sometimes she does well, but sometimes she pushes the spoon away as soon as she sees it coming towards her.

8:00-9:30 | MORNING ACTIVITIES

Now that the rainy season is over, and it's blazing hot outside, we have moved some of our morning errands, such as grocery shopping and doctor's appointments to the morning before the sun cooks us alive. If we don't go out, we put on some music, she watches us do chores, and we just play in the living room.

9:30-11:00 | NAP #1

She still goes down really easy for this nap, and for some time we decided to let her keep sleeping for two hours before we woke her up, but we've decided that was too much sleep in the morning and made her stay up super late, so we cap it at an hour and a half.

11:00-11:30 | LUNCH

Once again, we offer her solids first before her bottle. She only takes a few bites before she is whining or thrashing around in her chair.

11:30-2:30 | AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES

We've been trying to stay inside during this time. We recently sort of renovated our balcony so that if we need some fresh air or vitamin D, it is baby friendly. Sometimes I'll let her splash around in a shallow bucket of water or i'll blow some bubbles, but we tend to take it easy.

2:30 | NAP #2

This nap is hit or miss. We were putting her down after being awake for three hours, like in the morning, but we think she has extended her wake window, and so, we are experimenting with three hours and a half. She either talks and plays for 20 minutes if we are too early putting her down or she takes a short nap if we put her down too late.

3:30 | SNACK TIME MEAL

This is the easiest meal time because it is just a bottle. She gulps it as soon as she wakes up. When she is no longer sick, I plan to make this a snack time, so she can practice putting food in her mouth.

3:30-7:00 | EVENING ACTIVITIES

If she goes to daycare, it's just bath time, meal, bottle, and bed. But, recently she has been home, so it's been playtime. We are trying to figure out a good night time signaler, like special night time toys, but with her illness and not napping well recently at daycare, we end up rushing through our night time routine super fast. No time for books or anything.

7:00-7:30 | DINNER

This is her last meal, and sometimes she does really well! Other times, it is the same as before. She also gets her final bottle, and we give her 30 minutes to digest before putting her down to sleep.

7:30~ | GOOD NIGHT

Fortunately, she 98% of the time goes down without a fuss. if not, I usually have to go back in her room, lay her down and walk out again. She will whine for like 10 seconds, but then she will lay back down and sleep. She's usually out for the night unless she is woken up by coughing, which absolutely sucks, but right now due to illness she is doing 11+ hours without a peep. So, it will be a nice break until the next teething time or sleep regression!

Well, that is our 10 month routine! We have a mini trip coming up, so it will be interesting to see how she sleeps in a foreign environment. We still plan on bringing the white noise, but with such an observant baby, I I don't think she can be fooled!

See you in a month!
